Briefing
This Saturday, the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union sent the Executive Board’s Secretary for Branches and Associations to Nouadhibou to assess first-hand the main challenges and problems facing journalists and media organisations in the region.
The representative met members of the Union’s regional office and representatives of professional associations, hearing their concerns and demands about journalistic work in the region and the conditions in which the profession is practised.
Participants welcomed the visit as reflecting the Union’s commitment to direct communication with journalists outside the capital and to understanding their difficulties first-hand.
The Secretary confirmed that all observations and proposals raised would be submitted to the Union President and Executive Board for consideration, follow-up and resolution within the Union’s available resources.
