The associations “Sawt Al Daffa”, “Ilaj Al Marda” and “Trarza Coordination Initiative”, together with the “Mauritani Com” website, honoured the President of the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union, Mr Ahmed Taleb Ould Maâloum, on Monday morning at the Union’s headquarters in Nouakchott. They recognised his efforts for journalists generally and the families of deceased journalists in particular, as well as his important role in reinforcing national unity and the values of journalism.
Mr Souleymane Abbas, representing these organisations, presented the honour to Mr Aziz Ould Soufi, Vice-President of the Journalists’ Union.
On behalf of the President, Ould Soufi thanked these organisations and their leaders for the honour, which he described as a source of pride and a major incentive to continue along this path.
