Journalists’ Union President offers condolences following the death of Radio Mauritania journalist Ely Ould Bekkaye

In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

                         Condolences

The Almighty says: “Every soul shall taste death. You will receive your rewards in full only on the Day of Resurrection. Whoever is kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has indeed succeeded. The life of this world is nothing but a deceptive enjoyment.”

Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.

With hearts gripped by sorrow, while believing in Allah’s decree and destiny, we at the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union received the news of the death of our colleague Ely Ould Bekkaye, a journalist at Radio Mauritania. May Allah grant him forgiveness. He passed away on Friday morning, 24 June 2022, in Nouakchott following an illness in recent days.

In the face of this loss, I offer, personally and on behalf of the Union’s Executive Board and members, sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathy to his family, relatives, social circle and the media community as a whole. I pray that Almighty Allah encompass the deceased in His abundant mercy, increase the reward of every member of his noble family, and grant them patience and consolation through the tragedy of his passing.

Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return ٠
