Training course in Nouakchott on press freedom and journalists’ protection

A training course on press freedom and journalists’ protection began in Nouakchott on Monday, with participation from workers in public and private organisations.
Journalists from various countries are also participating, including Libya, Tunisia, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and Chad.
The course is organised in cooperation with the Al Jazeera Centre for Public Liberties and Human Rights and in partnership with the United Nations Centre for Human Rights Training and Documentation.
The course lasts four days and is led by international experts in media and media freedoms.
Topics covered include human rights mechanisms relevant to journalism, understanding conflict, kidnapping, risk assessment and information security.
