Guelmim-Oued Noun: Mauritanian Journalists’ Union signs a partnership agreement with the National Union of the Moroccan Press (photos)

The President of the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union, Mr Ahmed Taleb Ould Maâloum, signed a partnership agreement on Saturday evening in Guelmim, in the Kingdom of Morocco, with the President of the National Union of the Moroccan Press, Mr Abdellah Bakkali.
The agreement aims to promote cooperation, exchange of expertise and experience, and continuing training for women and men journalists across the two unions.
Both parties agreed to organise reciprocal visits by union officials to learn about the operations of media and press organisations and share experience and expertise that help develop journalism and media work. Journalists from both countries will have opportunities to attend training courses organised by either union, and regular meetings between the unions’ bodies will be held under a programme to be determined later.
The partnership and cooperation agreement was signed while a Mauritanian Journalists’ Union delegation attended the National Grand Prize for Press and Media ceremony, organised on the 26 in the Moroccan city of Guelmim by the National Union of the Moroccan Press’s regional branch in Guelmim-Oued Noun.
The Union President was accompanied by Dr El Hacen Ould Amar Jouda, Executive Board member responsible for Supplies and Logistics, and Ms Maria Traoré, Executive Board member responsible for Activities.
