A delegation from the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union, led by Union President Mr Ahmed Taleb Ould Maâloum, visited Nouadhibou on Friday morning.
During its stay in the economic capital, the delegation met Dakhlet Nouadhibou Governor Mr Yahya Ould Cheikh Mohamed Vall and Nouadhibou Mayor Mr El Ghassem Ould Bellali.
The delegation discussed with the city’s administrative and local authorities the media’s role in regional development and ways to enable journalists in the region to fulfil their noble mission as effectively as possible.
The delegation plans to meet journalists working in the region tomorrow, Saturday evening, to listen to them and their problems and consult with them, while arranging to begin renewing the Union’s regional offices.
