Statement:
Following the reply received yesterday by the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union from the Ministry of Culture, Handicrafts and Relations with Parliament, number 000190, dated 07. 05. 2020, requesting postponement of the congress in line with the state’s precautionary measures against Covid 19, in response to the Executive Bureau’s notification setting the date of the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union’s fourth ordinary congress,
the Executive Bureau has decided the following:
- Maintain the preparations according to the previously announced deadlines, including receiving files, in accordance with the Union statutes adopted by delegates at the third congress, after appealing judicial order number 0060. 2020,
dated 11. 05. 2020, which suspended the current preparations and the date of the Union congress.
- Postpone the previously announced congress date until the precautionary measures are lifted, in response to the supervising ministry’s request.
