The Executive Bureau of the Mauritanian Journalists’ Union met on Sunday 03. 05. 2020. The agenda was devoted to arrangements for the Union’s fourth congress, scheduled for 30 and 31 May 2020.
The Bureau decided to announce the following arrangements:
1- Form a congress preparatory committee as provided for in the Union statutes.
2- Form a committee outside the Executive Bureau to receive nomination files.
The nomination file consists of a list of 79 members, referred to as the Union Council.
The committee receiving nomination files must verify the candidate’s Union membership, the validity of their candidacy on the electoral list submitted, and their workplace and telephone number.
3- In this context, nominations for the elections will open on 5 May of the current month and remain open until 15 May 2020. Five days will then be allowed for changes to the lists before nominations close definitively on 20 May 2020 at midnight.
Once the prescribed deadlines have passed, the nomination list becomes final.
