The Mauritanian Journalists’ Union held an open meeting at its Nouakchott headquarters on intellectual opinion, culture and politics, attended by journalists, researchers and guests from Arab countries.
The speaker, Dr Beddy Ould Ebnou, outlined the main challenges hindering progress in our country, particularly in security, justice and health.
He stressed that the absence of a clear policy in previous periods had negatively affected the country’s economic and political life.
Asked to assess the current period, Ould Ebnou said that meetings with state officials had shown him improved handling of key issues, and he hoped citizens would see this improvement in practice.
